3D Studio Art: Ceramics
I have grown up knowing that I have been doomed to my family’s cognitive shortcomings. My Mother constantly forgets details of stories like names of people, my Grandpa is in his early stages of dementia, and his Father died from Alzheimers. For me, I have struggled to produce words from daily life because of multiple concussions and my family’s history. These jars represent words that I need help to remember, whether that be from a friend or furiously scouring google for synonyms. The jars are acting as an exercise in repetition and storing the words themselves inside them. Through pushing, pulling, pounding, repetition, and cutting, these are my attempts to keep the mind that I have for as long as I can.
